MORROW, Ga. (AP) - A Marietta man says two men tried to rob him when he met them to buy a used car advertised on Craigslist.
Steven Benton tells WSB-TV that he arranged to meet the seller of a 1994 Honda Civic at an Extended Stay hotel in Morrow.
When Benton asked to see the car's VIN number and title, he says another man rushed up behind him and pressed something into his
back saying it was a gun into his back and demanded money.
Benton tried to call 911 but one of the men knocked the phone from his hand and the two men jumped in the Civic and left.
Benton followed but hit a curb and crashed. He and his passenger were airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center. Benton was treated and
released, but his friend remained hospitalized with more serious injuries.
