SMYRNA, Ga. (AP) - Police in Cobb County are searching for a jail inmate who escaped from a work detail at a park in Smyrna.
Cobb Sheriff's spokeswoman Nancy Bodiford says 18-year-old Jesus Delagado Jr. of Mableton was working as part of a detail for the
Cobb County Parks and Recreation Department at Rhyne Park when he walked away Monday afternoon.
Bodiford says Delgado was sentenced to one year after being convicted of burglary and giving a false name to police. She says
he was being held at the Cobb jail awaiting for the Georgia Department of Corrections to pick him up.
