$49 million winning lottery ticket sold in Georgia

NewsCentral Staff

ATLANTA (AP) - Authorities say a $49 million winning lottery ticket has been sold in south Georgia.

With many lottery players focused on a record $500 Powerball jackpot that has yet to be won, the winning Georgia ticket matched all six numbers from a Tuesday night drawing in another game, Mega Millions.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://bit.ly/10Ui139) that the ticket was sold in Thomasville, about 60 miles south of Albany.

Lottery officials say the winning ticket was purchased at Susie Qs on U.S. Highway 319 North.

Meanwhile, the next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Wednesday night.
