4 children dead after fire outside Atlanta
CONYERS, Ga. (AP) - Officials investigating a fire in Conyers that killed four children and left a woman badly burned say the blaze likely started in a bathroom and hallway on the second floor of the home.
Tonya Parker, Rockdale County Spokeswoman, says officials have not determined the cause of the Tuesday night fire that tore through a duplex on Pinedale Circle. Glen Allen, spokesman for Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens says the severity of the damage may impede investigators from quickly determining what caused the fire.
Parker says Gregory B. Levett and Sons Funeral Home in Conyers has offered to handle funeral arrangements for the four children who died in the fire at no cost.
Rockdale County fire officials plan to conduct community outreach in the neighborhood focused on fire safety.
