Memorial Gym Shooting Under Investigation

A man is shot in the face as he leaves a gym near downtown Macon.

Public Information Officer Sergeant Melanie Hofmann tells FOX 24 News, Macon Police are investigating the shooting of a 22-year-old Macon man. Hofmann says Mario Smith was going to his vehicle from Memorial Gym when gunshots were heard.

The shots came from across the street near a vacant house. Hofmann says Smith was shot in the face. The victim is in stable condition at a local hospital.
