Hi there I'm Lt Col. Kurt Berry of the E8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System...otherwise known as JSTARS. I'm coming to you...from out here in the desert of the Middle East. Where we are supporting combat operations against the War on Terror. On behalf of me and my crew I'd like to take this small opportunity to thank all of you...that is family, friends, loved ones...significant others back home that have been keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. We truly appreciate all your support out here. Our mission in JSTARS is just like all the other missions out here. It's a small microcosm of events. We all work long days to get the mission done. And what we do is important to keep you safe. And that's why we want to thank you for all the cards, letters, gift boxes...cookies...you name it. We truly appreciate it. It takes a lot to keep us going out here. It takes a lot to do the team work we have out here. From the flight deck that takes us off...to the technicians that bring up the equipment on the JSTARS system...to the actual operators that are talking to combat forces on the ground engaging the enemy. We just want to take the opportunity to say...thank you America.
