Imagine being stuck at home with no way to go. That’s the reality for Cody Honeycut. At fifteen he’s managed to get his learners permit but has no wheels of his own. When Cody travels to the doctors office or even the store he’s forced to leave his electric wheelchair behind…and his grandmother has to struggle to lift his mechanical chair into her small car. But despite his challenges Cody’s outlook is bright. He dreams of one day being able to help people and volunteer his time. But without transportation…for now…Cody’s dreams are stuck at home.
Cody:
“Been wanting to go travel…and be able to be a normal teenager. Just get away from the doctors and the hospitals and stuff.”
Not long ago Cody emailed our own Chace Ambrose about his Ghostbusters Car and said he’d really like a ride…so in an effort to lift his spirits…Chace along with the Central Georgia Ghostbusters and the Ivey Police Department were more than happy to oblige.
Cody :
You’re ready to do some living today?
Definitely…
Well I want you to look right over here…because we have a surprise for you.
It’s not a van but the Central Georgia Ghostbusters wanted to give you a ride.
Are you serious!
After his ride Cody was all smiles…and was even made an honorary member of the Central Georgia Ghostbusters. But then it was back to reality…a life bound to wheels…and no way to go. And that’s this weeks Fox In Focus.
