Meet Marshall Hughes. He’s been cutting hair…right here in Macon since he was ten years old.
Marshall Hughes:
“I grew up in Macon on the east side of town. East Macon…Davis Homes…Kings Park…you know. As a child it was a good experience to grow up in the projects. To be …1 out of 4 kids. You know what I’m saying. Two brothers and one sister.”
Growing up, Marshall would pay his brothers so he could practice cutting their hair. But today the roles are reversed. Marshall’s an accomplished barber…successful businessman…and veteran of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. He’s also a mentor, father and husband. And he says he owes his blessed life to the prayers of his parents.
Marshall Hughes:
“A praying Mother and praying parents…and aunts and uncles…around you…you know what I’m saying. You have a choice in life you can go to the left or to the right…I choose to go to the right…you what I’m saying. You know…straight and narrow…you know what I’m saying. I’m not saying I was all perfect all my life. I done wrong…but I didn’t get caught. But you know… I thank God for that…you what I’m saying. I was taught you know saying the right things to do in life. And I choose to do that.”
Proving that good guys DO win…that’s this weeks Fox In Focus.
