Paris Hearing Passed to Another Judge

Miriam Paris' attorney says she walked into the courtroom Friday ready to plea not guilty to charges she failed to restrain a dog and resisting an officer. "She's dissatisfied with the way the whole thing has been handled in general. It was really insignificant in our minds with what happened. There was probably a better way to resolve the issue rather than writing tickets and coming to court," said Paris' attorney Anderson Ramay. Read more »

Movement to Recall Warner Robins Councilman Comes to an End

The recall against a Warner Robins councilman has been rejected. According to Election Supervisor Vida Rawls, the petition to recall Councilman Bob Wilbanks did not meet state requirements. Former Councilman Mike Brashear headed up the petition stating WiLbank’s constituents have lost faith in him. We caught up with Wilbanks to hear his reaction. Bob Wilbanks/Member, Warner Robins City Council: “Obviously I’m pleased. I held from the very beginning that there wasn’t a real reason or ground for recall so obviously I’m happy about that.” Brashear says he plans to meet with his committee and continue to discuss their options. Georgia High School Graduation Test Results In

Georgia High School Graduation test results have been released by the Georgia Department of Education and juniors in Houston County continue to succeed. Students performed above the state in every content area. 92 percent passed the English language arts section, while 94 percent passed math. 83 percent passed social studies and 93 percent passed science. Across the state, this was the first time students tested on the new social studies material. Read more »
