Yard Sale Raises Money For Baby Logan

NewsCentral Staff

A Warner Robins family raises money for their son on Saturday who suffers from a rare brain condition.

The Varnadoe family set up a yard sale on N. Houston Lake Road to raise money for their three - year - old son Logan who was born with only a third of his brain. The family needs money to send Logan to South Carolina to receive hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Logan's mother, April Varnadoe said Logan's condition is so rare that the FDA won't allow Medicare or her insurance to cover the procedure because it's out of state. Varnadoe said it'll cost about $5,000 plus lodging and food for the 20 day trip, but she's optimistic about the outcome of the procedure for her son.

"It's supposed to stimulate the brain cells that aren't functioning properly of the brain matter he does have," she said."It's also not to produce, but to produce additional cells that will function properly.”

The family is also hosting a "Delivery Lunch Special" fundraiser on Friday as well as an all you can eat barbeque at Central City Park that night. The DoS Airwing who is in Afghanistan has been raising money for Logan while fighting and will present a check to the family.
