An Ohio based company is expanding its business to Middle Georgia. A company called North Coast Logistics has set up shop in Middle Georgia meaning new jobs in the area.
“We’re really happy to be in Macon. The city has really embraced North Coast,” says Sales and Marketing Manager Mark Kabat.
It's day one of for North Coast Logistics, the Ohio based company that’s opening up shop in Middle Georgia.
“This is our first day here in Macon. We’re ramping up and we're anticipating about a dozen loads today and over the next couple weeks we'll be receiving as many as 120 loads a day,” says General Manager Brian Roop.
“North Coast Logistics is a third party logistics company. We’re based in Cleveland, Ohio. We provide warehousing distribution and transportation services,” says Kabat.
Of all places to expand, they chose to make Macon their new home.
“It's a strategic location for business coming out of the ports as well as going into Florida and throughout the Southeast region. It’s a good expansion for the company the market is really good,” says Kabat.
As the company gets ready to pack up and ship out materials across the Southeast, they're spreading the word that positions need to be filled.
“We’re really looking forward to bringing and creating a lot of new jobs here,” added Kabat.
“Right now we’re looking at about a dozen jobs all here locally and we expect more as we grow. We will need quite a few more and all will be from the area,” says Roop.
“The people here have been fantastic. We can't stress enough how much they've helped us get this operation running so quickly and were looking to grow and expand and we're happy about creating more jobs here,” says Kabat.

Welcome North Coast Logistics, this is Great news for Macon, tell the young newscaster to not make incorrect assumptions as it is not indicative of improvement in our overall economy. Look around and see if the changes in DC made a difference.
