Working World: Benefits Of Owning A Franchise

Linnie Supall

Working under a boss can be challenging, so why not start your own business?

“I believe as a franchise owner you have the opportunity to do business for yourself, set your priorities instead of someone else dictating what those priorities are,” says Steve Odom, President of Fibrenew Middle Georgia.

Steve Odom and his son Jason decided to put their technical skills to the test be investing in the franchise Fibrenew, and so far it’s been the perfect fit.

“This is an opportunity where I can trust him as an employee,” says Steve Odom.

Now Fibrenew is a company that caters to your needs when it comes to repairing leather, plastic and vinyl.

“It's actually pretty good. I get to see him twice a day, 5 days a week. Before when it came to working for corporate America you only get your occasional day off and half the time you spend it mowing your own yard so you don’t get to spend quality time with the family,” says Jason Odom, Technician for Fibrenew Middle Georgia.

With so many franchises to choose from Steve says he spoke to a franchise consultant to help him out, and since then he’s closed the door to corporate America and opened a new one to possibility.

“If you’re thinking about a franchise and spending time with the family versus corporate America then this is the way to do it,” says Jason Odom.
