"One with a shotgun and one with a pistol". -Chief Corley/Forsyth PD

That's Forsyth Police Chief Keith Corley describing the two armed men who broke into this home on Frontage Road late Tuesday night and awoke the homeowner.

"They asked him where the money was. He said he didn't have any money, and about that time one of the guys with the shotgun hit him in the face with the butt of the shotgun doing pretty extensive damage to his face, his nose area" -Chief Corley/Forsyth PD

"His face was like so messed up, and he was just like leaking blood everywhere." -Antron Hendrix/Witness

Antron Hendrix saw the tail-end of his neighbor's ordeal that Corley's department is now investigating.

"Somehow he managed to get up and push past them and run to the front door. But he managed to get out and there were some witnesses outside across the road that saw him and saw two black males running from the residence." -Chief Corley/Forsyth PD

"And that's when I walked up and talked to the victim and he described to me who the two people that pistol whipped him was and once he described them, I knew who they were." -Antron Hendrix

Now bearing witness to an incident like this can be stressful for anyone but in this case the witness says he's also related to the suspects.

"It's kind of bad really, because you know they some kin to you. You wouldn't expect out of all people, somebody related to you to do something like that. And then when you see something happen like that, you only expect to see it on tv not in real life." -Antron Hendrix/Witness

Authorities are still searching for the suspects, their identities have not been released.

The victim is recovering at the Medical Center from surgery due to his injuries.
