Welcome Center Kicks Off Week of Giving Campaign

NewsCentral Staff

The Bibb County School District Welcome Center is giving back during this holiday season to those in need.

The center kicked off its first "Week of Giving Campaign" on Monday. Each day during the week, the center will be collecting gifts listed on their flyer for the five different organizations they've chosen to receive them. Center employees said they selected the groups based on the community needs and to build a closer relationship with the people in the district.

"We are committed to giving to charitable organizations to make the lives of other individuals better,” Dean of Parent and Community Education at the Welcome Center, Dr. Terrance Smith said “That is the big focus behind this initiative and we're very excited about it."

People wanting to donate can drop off goods at the Welcome Center at 2003 Riverside Drive. The gifts will be given to the organizations at the end of the week.
