Weather Channel's Jim Cantore Films Show in Perry

NewsCentral Staff

A scary scene in Perry Tuesday and to many, would look like a disaster, but it was actually part of a documentary The Weather Channel is shooting in central Georgia.

Cars were thrown off buildings at The Guardian Centers to simulate what would happen during a tornado or earthquake. The Guardian Centers is a large-scale disaster training facility in Perry.

Weather Channel Meteorologist Jim Cantore tells WGXA they're simulating a situation about what people should do if they're caught in a natural disaster and can't seek shelter.

General motors donated several cars that were damaged during Hurricane Sandy to be used in the demonstration. No word on when the documentary will air.
