High ranking military leaders from around the region gathered at the Warner Robins VFW Post 6605 Thursday to pay homage to World War II veterans.
More than 200 WWII vets attended the luncheon, Georgia Congressman Austin Scott and Warner Robins Mayor Chuck Shaheen were also on hand.
Event Organizer and non profit organization Service for Service Director Kathryn Carver says she was inspired to put on the event after hearing veteran's stories.
"It helps honor our greatest generation, all of our veterans are important whether they've served in conflict or in war, it's really important for each and every one of them to feel special," Carver said.
This is the second year Carver's organization has held the veterans luncheon. She plans to make it an annual event.
