A golden axe proves that the Warner Robins Fire Department is a leader in fundraising for muscular dystrophy research.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association presented the coveted Golden Axe Award to the Warner Robins Fire Department for raising more money for MDA than anyone else in the state.
Fire Chief Robert Singletary accepted the award Thursday on behalf of Warner Robins firefighters who raised more than $110,000 this year with the annual Boot Drive program to fund MDA research.
Since 1989 the Warner Robins Fire Department has raised more than two million dollars for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
