A Warner Robins mother saves her child from a fox attack.

Warner Robins Police Department Public Information Officer Tabitha Pugh tells WGXA, a mother and child were bitten by a fox in the yard of their Tranquil Pointe home late Thursday afternoon. Pugh says the mother found the fox biting the child and killed it with a piece of wood.

Both the mother and the child received treatment at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.

Pugh says two hours earlier, another woman was also bitten by a fox outside her home on Ridgestone Drive. The victim received medical treatment at the Houston Medical Center.

Pugh says investigators believe the same fox was involved in both incidents. The body of the fox is undergoing testing by the Health Department for rabies.

Pugh says as a precaution animal traps have been placed in the area.
