WGXA Exclusive: Player Shot During Church Basketball Game

What started out as a church basketball game came to a chilling stop Monday night. Shots were fired outside the Memorial Park Recreation Center.

The game, between rivals Mount Vernon and Union Baptist Church, turned ugly when a disgruntled fan allegedly pulled a gun on a Union player.

Community Activist Danny Glover was delivering refreshments when a player was hit by a bullet. The victim was reportedly shot in the thigh and is being treated at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.
