USDA gives all clear for Bibb Animal Shelter to re-open

Aaron Leedy

Bibb County's animal shelter is back open after another case of the parvo virus was detected.

Public Affairs Officer Kevin Barrere says the United States Department of Agriculture has given the all clear after a morning inspection on Monday.

The inspection wasn't able to take place until Monday even though the shelter was cleaned last week. He says the USDA usually waits three days to perform an inspection after cleaning is performed.

The shelter re-opened around 10:00 on Monday.
