UPDATE: Macon's Homeless Donation Stations

NewsCentral Producer

The Leadership Macon class of 2012 chartered the idea, The Power of Change.

The class helped to place 9 homeless meters in downtown Macon with all proceeds going to the Macon Coalition to End Homelessness.

During the holiday season, donations for the stations took off.

Mechel McKinley tells WGXA, "The power of change donation stations have done really well since we installed them in November. We have collected over $1000 at the meter level giving."

The meters allow for monetary donations, or you can swipe your Visa, Master Card, American Express, or Discover cards.
