The Georgia National Fair had two of countries hottest stars hit the stage on Saturday.
Kellie Pickler and Joe Nichols sang at Reaves Arena to a very excited crowd.
"I love coming to Georgia,” Nichols said. “The crowd is always great, they love country music and I kind of fit right in down here."
"We all ways love when we get to come to towns like this and perform," Kellie Pickler said.
Pickler in a purple shirt, jeans and rhinestone heels rocked a shaved head in support of her best friend, Summer, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in June. She said she had no reservations in showing off the trimmed locks to the Georgia crowd.
"Anytime someone you care about or you love is going through something like this, you never want them to feel like they're walking through the valley alone,” she said.
The former American Idol singer came to Middle Georgia promoting her new album "100 Proof."
"All the reviews from this album have been so, so amazing," she said.
Getting the crowd in Perry prepared for his set was Joe Nichols who took the stage after Pickler. Nichols left his record label, Show Dog-Universal in May but said he's happy with the split.
"The difference is night and day between being locked in a marriage with people who don't understand you musically and make their business work,” he said. “I've got to make sense with my business and be an artist."
Nichols and his wife Heather recently welcomed baby girl, Dylan River, into their lives. This is Nichols second daughter. He has a 14-year-old, Ashelyn, from a previous relationship. Nichols said his family's newest addition reminds him to take advantage of rest.
"She really, really inspires me to get sleep every chance I get," he said.
However, that wasn't the case last night as both singers rocked the crowd. Nichols and Pickler went back on the road following the concert. While this isn’t Nichols first fair performance, he said there is one treat at the fair that is difficult for him to stay away from.
"It's the most fragrant, the one thing you walk by and you're like mmm funnel cake,” he said. “I think I'm going to get one of those and I don't even like funnel cake but it smells so good I'm going to eat one of those but I'm not even hungry, I just ate like a whole pizza from the last shop I passed."
Nichols will be shooting a new album cover in a few weeks. He also performed a new song for the crowd that seemed well received by everyone.
The next big acts coming to Perry are "All Star Weekend" and "Hot Chelle Rae" next Saturday.
