Teen Sentenced to 20 Years in Macon Murder Case

A Macon teen who shot and killed a man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison today.
Krystal Almaraz pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in Bibb County Superior Court.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, Alvaraz was 17 when she shot 23-year-old Gabriel Contreras 6 times on Mead Road.
Our media partner the Macon telegraph was in court.
They say Almaraz, now 18-years-old, apologized to the family of the victim and claimed she never meant for any of it to happen.
When police found Contreras's body his pants were around his ankles. His shirt and jacket were pulled up over his head.
Parts of a cell phone were embedded in Contreras's cheek from where he'd been on the phone with another man, Osvaldo Garcia-Alcaraz, the Telegraph reports.
