Stray Angel living up to name aiding Ga. soldier

NewsCentral Staff

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. (AP) - A few months back, Angel was nothing but a stray, down to skin and bones.

Now she's living up to her name. The dog found walking along a road in Hawkinsville is being trained as a rescue dog by Healing4Heroes to help Keith Parker. Parker is an Iraq war veteran from Zebulon who wears two hearing aids and suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder due to a roadside bomb explosion.

Parker says that Angel is a godsend.

The woman who nursed Angle back to health, Tracy Johnson, calls Angel "a hero for a hero."
