State Charges Against Former Warner Robins Councilman Dropped

NewsCentral Staff

State charges against a former Warner Robins city councilman have been dropped.
According to court documents filed Monday, Judge Edward Lukemire ordered the state criminal charges against John Williams of making a false statement be dropped.
Williams faced the state charges stemming from the disappearance of his city provided cell phone.
Williams was sentenced to 14 months in prison in June on federal extortion charges after a jury found Williams guilty of using his position on city council for financial gain.
The former councilman will also serve a year of supervised probation upon his release and has been issued a $300 fine.
