Sheriff: Teens Responsible for Destroying Campaign Signs

Celeste Smith

Some Bleckley County teenagers are in trouble with the law after they're caught destroying campaign signs.

Bleckley County Sheriff Harold Lancaster tells NewsCentral, investigators arrested several juveniles for destroying campaign yard signs.

In early July, Bleckley County Sheriff's candidate Johnny Blash discovered racial slurs painted on several of his campaign signs.

Sheriff Lancaster says Blash did not want to press charges against the teenagers. The painting of the large sign remains under investigation by the Bleckley County Sheriff's Office.

Republican Incumbent Sheriff Harold Lancaster faces democratic challenger Johnny Blash in the November election.
