Rutland High Student Faces Drug, Weapon Charges

A Rutland High School student has been charged with Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.

The charges come after a Wednesday incident in which a tip was submitted that a student was smoking marijuana on the bus while en route to school.

A Subsequent search of the student revealed a knife and several bags of marijuana.

The identity of the student was not released by Bibb County School District officials.
