To the members of Save Rumble this building is much more than just an old school.

Now serving as an alternative school, this is the old Rumble Academy, the main part of which housed Warner Robins' first high school.

History that is now being threatened. The building is slated to be demolished in the summer of 2014 as part of a school improvement project.

The Save Rumble group gathered to discuss possible other uses for the building. Among those in attendance was former Houston County Commissioner Larry Snellgrove who was a key player in the restoration of the old Perry High School which now houses the Houston County Board of Education.

"Its the same thing I'd like to see done here locally. I've always thought history is not as much about where we've been as where we're going. My Children and Grandchildren live here, I'd love to be able to take them by places and say this is where I went to school." -Larry Snellgrove/Former County Commissioner

The rally behind saving the school has attracted a few notable supporters including former Governor, Sonny Perdue.

"Our informal committee reached out to a lot of people we thought would be influential and we were really pleased the everybody we talked to, Gov. Perdue, Sheriff Talton, were both on are effort and we were really appreciative of that, but not surprised because again, this is a community that sort of sticks together." -Jim Elliott/WR City Attorney

Several members of the Board of Education say there is still hope for saving Old Rumble Junior High.
