Animal Rescue Groups Adopt Away Dogs and Cats

NewsCentral Staff

Animal rescue groups gathered at a Macon car dealership on Saturday to save the lives of animals in Middle Georgia.

Five rescue groups showcased their potential pets at the second "Riverside Ford Lincoln Adoption Event.” The car dealership partnered up with the Facebook group, "On Borrowed Time" to bring the rescue groups and their animals out in hopes people want to adopt them. The groups said they need people to take the animals’ home in order for them to continue saving more dogs and cats that roam the streets or end up in shelters.

“Animals don't have a voice they don't have a choice in what they got put into,” On Borrowed Time founder, Donna Segelken said. The human person put them there. So they don't have the ability to say no I don't want to get dumped off in that building or I will behave."

Besides showcasing dogs and cats, the event helped raise money for the groups and gather donated supplies. Segelken said she wants to host a similar event next spring
