State Representative James Beverly is spear heading an initiative that will tackle the task of bettering the quality of life for local veterans.
Veterans “Stand Down” kicks off tomorrow and aims to provide a host of services to veterans including free food, clothing, health care, employment opportunities and more.
“As a result of President Obama bringing troops back from Afghanistan and Iraq, I thought about, as a member of the General Assembly what can I do for the troops returning,” said James Beverly, Georgia State Representative for District 139.
The event will last from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. tomorrow at the V-F-W located on Key Street and is open to all veterans.
