NewsCentral Staff

Eighteen years ago this week, Georgia's worst flooding in recorded history swept across the state.

By the time tropical storm Alberto passed, 31 Georgians were dead, thousands were without homes and property damage was valued in the hundreds of millions.

Macon’s water treatment plant was seriously damaged, leaving the city without water for weeks.

Middle Georgia was hit hardest especially the Delano Drive area of Macon.

Audrey Edwards\Flood of 1994 Survivor: “It has been 18 years, and when you talk about it, it brings back memories. We didn't have any where to go to."
