RAFB gate closures likely over the next few days due to construction

Robins Air Force Base is alerting motorists to gate closures over the next few days.

Contractors are scheduled to make permanent repairs to the gate barriers this weekend, causing gate closures at the three main gates:

1. Friday, Feb. 15: Gate 1 at Green Street will partially close at 3 p.m. All lanes will be available for use Feb. 16.

2. Saturday, Feb. 16: Gate 14, Russell Pkwy, will close be closed all day. The gate will reopen Feb. 17.

3. Sunday, Feb. 17: Gate 3 at Watson Boulevard will be closed beginning at 4 a.m. and reopen Feb. 18 at 4 a.m. Visitors requiring passes will obtain them at the Visitors Center and drive to Gate 14 for entrance.

Any repairs delayed due to weather will take place Monday, Feb. 18.
