Missing Hawkinsville Teen Found Safe in Miami

The month long search for a missing Hawkinsville teen is over.

Authorities’ confirmed Tuesday night that 16-year-old Madison Conner has been located in Miami, Florida. Her family is heading to South Florida to pick her up.

Family and friends in Hawkinsville sit and wait for her return. “I got a call this afternoon that Madison had been found," says Ken Clark, Madison’s cousin.

The 16-year-old Hawkinsville native went missing from her home nearly four weeks ago.

Now that she has been located in Miami, Florida her grandmother, Brenda Stokes, is more than relieved. "I am feeling awesome awesome awesome and I am praising god that she is safe and coming home to us," she says.

Madison’s is coming home safe and unharmed according to her father Wes. "Wes talked to Madison for a little while and made sure she was ok. They are so relieved, we are just all relieved. The whole town is," says Clark.

Her return is expected to bring peace not only to her family but their small town. “Oh my god it's been a nightmare what we have had to deal with, worse than death," Stokes adds.

They credit her return to the community making Madison’s face known nationwide. "On Facebook so many people shared it that her face was all over the place, all over the country," adds Clark.

They worked night and day for the return of loved one. Now, the family and the entire town of Hawkinsville sit and wait patiently to welcome Madison back home.

"We will welcome her with open loving loving loving arms. Everyone has been so totally awesome with my family there is not an adequate word in the Webster dictionary to thank that community for what they have done.”
Madison is expected to return to Hawkinsville tomorrow with her little sister Mary Wesley and her mother and father.

As for the $10,000 reward that was offered, the family says they are not yet sure who the right person is that deserves it but doesn't mind giving one bit for Madison’s safe return.
