The Macon Police Department is investigating an incident in which two men were robbed while cleaning their car at a car wash.
Police spokesperson Jami Gaudet says it happened at the Water Wizard Car Wash on Pio Nono Avenue around 6:30 Tuesday morning.
Two men told officers three unknown black males approached them in a brown Toyota. Two of the suspects got out of the car while the driver remained inside and asked the two males to buy a laptop computer but never displayed one. When they refused, one of the men pointed a handgun at them.
Gaudet says one of the victims attempted to run, but was grabbed by one of the suspects by the shirt, preventing him from fleeing. The suspect removed cash from his pocket. Money also was taken from the second victim.
The two suspects jumped back into the Toyota and sped away toward Rocky Creek Road and the Interstate.
Suspect one is described as short, stocky build, short hair, wearing blue pants – wielding handgun. Suspect two is described as bald, slender build, wearing white t-shirt with no weapon.
The vehicle is described as a brown Toyota with a missing hub cap on the driver’s side. It has a Clayton County tag but the numbers are unknown.
