Pedestrian Hit, Killed on Pio Nono Avenue

The Macon Police Department continues to investigate a fatal accident involving a pedestrian.

The accident happened just after midnight Saturday night on Pio Nono Avenue.

23-year-old Chastity Johnson was crossing the roadway when she was struck by a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe operated by a 22-year-old male.

Johnson was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia where she died from the injuries sustained in the accident.

According to Macon Police, a blood sample was taken from the driver of the Tahoe and the case is under investigation.
