Nurses Gather Under the Gold Dome for Reform

NewsCentral Staff

More than 1,000 nurses gathered at Georgia's state capitol Thursday asking lawmakers to support bills that make their jobs more effective and less restricted by government regulations.

The Georgia Nurses Association is pushing for the removal of regulatory barriers.

They have also collaborated with the Board of Nursing, State Legislators and others to shape continuing competency legislation that will ensure lifelong learning while not encumbering nurses with difficult requirements.

Governor Deal met with the group under the gold dome.

The GNA also supports the mandatory reporting of violations of the Georgia Nurse Practice Act which they say will further protect patients.
