New leadership announced at two prominent Macon organizations

The Board of Directors of Macon's International Cherry Blossom Festival and Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful Commission announced Thursday new executive leaders for the two community organizations.
Richard Brewer of Charleston, South Carolina, was named President and CEO of the Cherry Blossom Festival and Pamela Carswell of Macon was named Executive Director of the Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful Commission.
Brewer boasts 30 years of experience producing and consulting for professional festivals and events. He is the co-founder of the $3 million Riverbend Festival in Chattanooga, Tenn., and specializes in developing unique events.
"I've known about the Cherry Blossom Festival ever since it started back in 1982, and I'm really thrilled to be here, just can't wait to get started," Brewer said.
Pamela Carswell comes to the Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful Commission with 34 years under her belt as a professional educator including 18 years as a principal. She currently serves as the principal at Weaver Middle School
