New boutique store opens in downtown Macon

Aaron Leedy

Downtown Macon shoppers have a new choice to make their purchases.

The "Pink Chief Boutique" on Third Street celebrated its grand opening Wednesday. Owner Tabatha Lance says so far the response from the community has been very positive.

Lance says her new store specializes in carrying unique items and doesn't cater to one specific shopper's preference. She adds when it came to deciding where to set up shop, her decision was an easy one.

"I love downtown, most all downtowns. I like the culture that comes with it and the arts. Anything that is unique I love and I think that is where we really fit in best," said Lance.

Lance says the name "Pink Chief Boutique" comes from two things--the Indian heritage in her family and her favorite color.

The store is open Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
