A new restaurant is close to opening up its doors at the Shoppes at River crossing and offering friendly portions to customers.
"Buca di Beppo" which translates as “Joe's basement" is set to start serving people in less than two weeks. The Italian restaurant chain is owned by Planet Hollywood International out of Orlando, Fl. This is the company's first restaurant in Macon. The casual dining chain will have cheeky photos on the wall, strings of multicolored lights and quirky decor to go with its family style meals.
“Large platters of food that you can share with your fellow guests, just like a Sunday dinner over in Italy when the family all sat down and mama would bring out the big platter of chicken parmesan and a bowl of pasta and a big bowl of salad and the whole family would just pass it around and enjoy themselves,” Senior Vice President John Thall said.
The restaurant is currently accepting applications and will start serving customers on October 15.
