New Details in Kroger Shooting Death

WGXA has new details in the death of a man who was shot by a Macon police officer in a grocery store parking lot.

Macon Police have confirmed that there was no outstanding warrant for Sammie Davis Junior who was shot at Kroger on Pio Nono Avenue last Friday by Macon Police Officer Clayton Sutton.

A police report reveals that when help first arrived at the scene, Officer Sutton had blood on his face and said that he had been cut. The report says officers handcuffed Davis before administering first aid.

Officer Sutton is on administrative leave as the investigation continues.
