New Bibb County Fire Station Nearing Completion

Construction is near completion for the new Bibb County fire station located on Forsyth Road between Bass Road and Wesleyan Drive.
Workers are laying bricks and installing the building's heating system, electrical wiring and plumbing.
Bibb County leaders say the fire station should be completed by April.
Twelve new firefighters were hired last month to staff the station.
Firefighters say the station will make the area safer and should lower insurance rates for homeowners in the area.
The new fire station is one of three that will be funded by the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or SPLOST, approved by voters in 2011.
