Monroe County to Test Tornado Sirens Saturday

NewsCentral Staff

There is no severe weather in our forecast, but Monroe County will spend Saturday testing their tornado siren system.

Sirens in several communities are expected to sound around lunchtime Saturday

Sirens will be tested in Culloden, Juliette, at the Monroe County Recreation Complex and at High Falls State Park.

According to the Monroe County EMA, if you live between 1 and 1.5 miles from each siren, you should hear them. Officials advise to not call 911 if you hear the sirens and to only call if you spot a real emergency.
