Monroe County Teenage Runaway Returns Home

A Monroe County teenager is back home after running away on Monday night.

Monroe County Sheriff Deputies said the search started at Logwell Church Road off Hwy 42. The 13-year-old girl ran away around 4 p.m. after an argument at her home. Deputies utilized the Georgia State Patrol helicopter that has infrared cameras to find her. After searching for seven hours, the girl reunited with her family around 3 a.m. Deputies suspect she heard the chopper and returned home.
