Million dollar winning Powerball ticket goes unclaimed in Macon

NewsCentral Staff

One of you may be one million dollars richer if you recently purchased a Powerball ticket in Middle Georgia.

The Georgia Lottery says a winning ticket matched the first five numbers from Saturday's Powerball drawing but no one has claimed the winnings.

The ticket is worth a million bucks and was sold at the Jet Food Store on Highway 57 in Macon. The store's manager says they've had winnings in the past, but nothing this large.

"We're so excited to find out who it is, who hit the million dollars. We've had two, $10,000 winners but this is the first million," said Store Manager Melissa Kelley.

The winning numbers from the March 16 Powerball drawing were 3-7-21-44-53 and the Powerball was 16.

Wednesday's jackpot is an estimated $260 million. Tickets are two bucks per play.
