Metro Atlanta Woman Dies in Bibb County Motorcycle Accident

A fatal motorcycle accident is under investigation by the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

The accident happened on I-75 just south of Sardis Church Road around 8 p.m. Sunday night.

According to witnesses, a group of motorcyclists were traveling north on I-75 in the far left lane. The group was making a move to distance themselves from a van that had a flat tire.

In the process, 33-year-old Takisha Pittman of Stockbridge lost control of her motorcycle, hit the saddle bag of the motorcycle in front of hers, and then she and the motorcycle went down.

Pittman was transported to the Medical Center of Central Georgia where she was pronounced dead just before 9 p.m.

No one else was injured. Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones stated that the next of kin has been notified.
