NewsCentral Staff

Mercer Head Football coach Bobby Lamb announced three new members of his coaching staff Thursday. The new additions round out the 10 person staff that will coach the team during its first practice season.

The new additions include Chino Fontenette, coaching wide receivers, Dominique Davenport, as a defensive quality control coach, and Will Patterson, coaching tight ends.

The school;s 42,000 sq. ft. football and lacrosse complex is also nearing completion.

Sophomore running back and Air Force Academy transfer Ben Souther says he's excited to hit the field now that the coaching staff has been finalized.

"I've been around very good coaches and I can definitely say that these coaches are top notch, and they have a great program already, and you would think they had been here for three years," Souther said.

Lamb says the team will have it's first practice in full pads on Thursday.
