The Mercer University Athletic Department has announced season tickets will go on sale Thursday for the school's reinstated football program.
People will be able purchase season tickets for $75 or $50 a seat. Each ticket can be used for all eight home games during the 2013 season.
Mercer Head Football Coach Bobby Lamb says the athletic department has set a goal of selling 3,000 tickets before September 17th.
Lamb says players are expected to arrive on campus Saturday and will go longer than a full year of practice and preparation without competing against other schools. He says he hopes the public responds to the players hard work by buying tickets to watch them play.
"One of our goals when we came here was to make this Mercer's team number one, Macon's team number two and Middle Georgia's team number three, so we're going to see how the public responds and I expect a great response," Lamb said.
The $75 seats are located in between the 35 - yard markers and the $50 seats are located near the end zones. Lamb says the official seating capacity has not been officially decided yet, but he expects around 6,000.
