NewsCentral Staff

The man accused of killing and dismembering a Mercer law student wants more time to mount his murder defense.

Attorney Frank Hogue, who represents accused killer Stephen McDaniel, says he filed 31 motions last month on his client's behalf. And this morning, Hogue says he filed a new motion for additional time to file even more motions in the case.

Hogue says no hearing date for his motions or the trial has been set.

McDaniel's is accused of murdering his neighbor and Mercer University Graduate student Lauren Giddings.
