Macon Mayor Robert Reichert and several Central Georgia organizations are once again teaming up to make Christmas for some a little brighter.
The Mayor's Christmas Motorcade left City Hall Tuesday morning with gifts to donate to patients at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville. Since 1958, the Georgia Municipal Association has had an annual motorcade where they collect gifts for patients at seven regional mental hospitals in Georgia.
Mayor Reichert says without the motorcade, some wouldn't receive anything at all.
"These presents can provide a year's worth of enjoyment. For some patients, this is the only Christmas gift they will receive," said Reichert.
Mayor Reichert says the gifts the motorcade provides patients can be used and enjoyed all year long.
