Infant dies of blunt force trauma, father arrested

An infant has died at the Medical Center of Central Georgia from blunt force trauma injuries and now the father has been arrested for felony murder.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones tells NewsCentral Deesmond Hicks of Edna Place Road was taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon. On Monday, the child died of blunt force trauma.
An autopsy is expected to be done in Tuesday morning. Medical personnel determined that the baby's injuries were highly suggestive of non-accidental injury or abuse.
Also on Monday, Macon Police arrested Richard Allen Hicks the Third for felony murder and felony cruelty to children involving the death of his child.
Hicks was arrested and transported to the Bibb Law Enforcement Center. NewsCentral will update this story as more information becomes available.
